All the companies that collaborate with this association (both wholesalers and retailers) are committed to sustainable tourism. Moreover, the association cooperates with local travel agencies and entities in destination countries to promote local development and sustainable growth.

An educational and detailed web page allows consumers to learn about the ecological, socioeconomic, and quality criteria that are used to design tourism proposals. It also lists the so-called traveller’s decalogue, which should guide the practice of responsible tourism, and it refers, for further information, to the Global Code of Ethics prepared by the World Tourism Organization.

How does Ethnic contribute to improving the environment?

Ethnic designs and implements tourism proposals based on criteria of tourism sustainability and responsibility, which strengthen the local economies of visited countries, respect and value their natural resources, and responsibly publicize the socioeconomic reality of those destinations. Moreover, in many of its activities, it proposes travel by public transport or other means of group transport.

All its tourism proposals respect the environment and endeavor to ensure that the majority of the contracted services follow a strategy that protects natural resources and avoids all kinds of environmental harm. Likewise, the association offers advising to both customers and suppliers in order to contribute to improving their practices of environmental responsibility.

How does Ethnic have a financial impact on the community and contribute to improving social and labour relations?

All the activities proposed by Ethnic begin from a participatory perspective, with the local communities involved and participating in the decision-making. Subsequently, they see that their wishes and interests are respected. It hires the most well-trained local population to provide various services.

At the same time as its main activity, Ethnic sensitizes all the players involved in the tourism sector through campaigns and communication actions in order to raise the awareness of consumers of tourism services regarding the need to commit to responsible consumption.
